Most New Year’s resolutions are broken by February, and most of those are to “get in shape”. Maybe, the discouraging thing for many people is a lack of results. If we’re being honest, some of us are working out to look good (and then you start feeling good so you have no choice but to keep up with the workout resolution you set in the first place) and there’s nothing wrong with that! But as the old adage goes “Work smarter, not harder.”
While abs are definitely great to have to show off, having a strong core is essential to the body. Your core muscles are what connect the entire body. A strong core helps offset a lot of problems such as back pain, lack of balance, and strength in general.
Here are some easy at-home workouts for quick abs and muscle definition that help strengthen your core. With abs as your goal, keep in mind you’ll want to include exercises that slim the midsection, otherwise you’ll have abs that no one can see!
For these exercises, you’ll be on your back. The amount of each are only suggestions, so you can dial it back or increase the intensity of the workout as you see fit (no pun intended).
